Partner Uniklinikum Erlangen received BUXCO machine for WP4

At the end of November 2022, SynAir-G partner Uniklinikum Erlangen received The BUXCO Whole Body Plethysmography (WBP) System, with its supplementary analysis and reporting software.

This machine will help the project partners working on WP4 (In-vitro & in-vivo models) to collect airway endpoints in longitudinal studies concerning indoor air quality and its effects. Measured respiratory endpoints include: respiratory rate, minute ventilation, tidal volume, and airflows.

The machine enables exposure of awake individual mice to pollutants in controlled indoor areas. Thanks to the WBP system, researchers can collect important data about the effects of pollutants after their exposure, and by reducing the number of experimental animals.
