On 2-4 September 2026, our partner Lulea University of Technology (LTU) presented the 34th International Conference on Information Systems Development (ISD 2026) in Prague, showcasing SynAir-G’s research on user-driven Information Systems Development, end-user engagement and Living Lab-based field testing.
The SynAir-G research entitled “User-Driven Information Systems Development in Living Lab Contexts: Evidence from the SynAir-G Case” was presented by Abdolrasoul Habibipour from LTU at the conference during two interactive poster sessions. The research examines the SynAir-G digital sentinel system from an Information Systems Development and Living Lab perspective, focusing particularly on how stakeholder engagement, field testing, and real-life experimentation contributed to the iterative development of the system. The study highlights how engagement with children, teachers, research coordinators, and other stakeholders informed usability, system requirements, design decisions, and system evolution.
Presenting the work at ISD 2026 Conference provided an opportunity to disseminate SynAir-G results to the international Information Systems research community, involving 250-300 researchers, and to discuss how experiences from the project can contribute to research on user-driven and participatory development of digital systems.
The paper is accepted as a short poster paper and will be published open access in the ISD 2026 Proceedings in the Association for Information Systems (AIS) eLibrary. The conference proceedings will also be submitted for indexing in Scopus, Google Scholar, DBLP, Semantic Scholar, and Web of Science/Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
